Our Beliefs
Our Mission
Why are We Here?
Rim View Community Church exists to share Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world. We do this by worshiping Him, having fellowship with each other, experiencing God, and responding to His leadership in our lives.

God
God the Father
We believe God the Father, the first person of the Trinity, providentially created, maintains and governs all creatures and events according to His own purpose. He is the one true and perfect God who eternally exists as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ
God the Son
We believe that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, the eternal son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay the sin debt of the world, rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven. He is the high priest of every believer.

Holy Spirit
God the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin, and indwells in the heart of every believer. The Spirit interprets the Scriptures, empowers the Christian to godly living and encourages the believer for spiritual growth and Christian service.

People
People matter to God and to us
All of humanity is created by God, in His image, and is precious to Him. Although sin separates us from Him, God is rich in mercy and has great love for us. God demonstrated His love for us by sending His Son, and by believing in Christ as our Lord and Savior, we may become the children of God. As His church we are commanded by Christ to love our neighbors as well as one another, thereby proving that we are His disciples.

God's Word
God’s Word is our authority for life
God’s Word is eternal. It is a living Word, the source of life and life itself. It is inspired by God, given to bless men as a light, a lamp and a way of life. It is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and training in righteousness. The word keeps us from sin, provides a source of joy, and gives hope so that we would believe and that we might be adequately equipped to do every good work God has for us.

Prayer
Prayer is communication with God
We are all encouraged to pray persistently and without ceasing. God hears our prayers and they accomplish much. They are to be used for restoration of the sick, healing, forgiveness, and meeting the physical and spiritual needs of an individual. Prayer is used to ask for wisdom, to keep us from temptation, and to aid us in seeking God for answers. Most importantly, prayer is an opportunity to be in communication with God so that we might know Him, His purposes and His ways.

Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God through Christ's sacrifice
We believe that salvation is a gift we receive through God’s grace and our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Christ died in our place and bore our sins in His own body and on the third day after His death, He physically rose again, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. Due to Christ’s sacrifice, all those who have truly received Christ as Savior are eternally secure in salvation, kept by God’s power, secured and sealed in Christ forever.

Baptism
Baptism symbolizes new life in Christ for believers
Water baptism by submersion is a public, outward expression that indicates a personal, inward faith. It gives evidence of the inner change that has already occurred in the believer’s life when he or she was “born again” through faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism identifies the believer with the message of the gospel, the Person of Jesus Christ, and other believers. It associates the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and signifies the believer’s death to the old life and his or her resurrection to a new life in Christ (see Romans 6:1-8; Colossians 2:12). It does not guarantee salvation.

Communion
Communion calls us to remember Jesus' sacrifice of his body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins
At RVCC we practice "close communion," meaning all true believers in Jesus who have placed their faith & trust in Him for salvation & are walking in close relationship with Him are welcome to partake of the elements with us. The elements of bread and juice represent the broken body and shed blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins. We take the Lord's Supper/Communion in accordance with Jesus' command to remember Him in Luke 22. Our church routinely takes the Lord's Supper together on the last Sunday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September, and November) as well as on Good Friday and any other time our Pastor feels led.
